Alaska's Statehood Experience

Rasmuson Foundation and the Alaska Humanities Forum have partnered to award 24 projects which commemorate the 50th Anniversary of Alaska Statehood. These statewide and local community projects explore the history of statehood, the circumstances that brought it about, and projects that address the meaning of statehood as Alaska looks ahead to the next fifty years. These 24 projects include: Media, Public Meetings/Exhibits, Oral History, Research, Planning, and Creative Expression. Click on logo to view the projects awarded!
ASE is also supported by corporate and private support and the National Endowment for the Humanities “We the People” program.

AK50 Our Stories Mini Grant Program Guidelines & Application
AK50 Our Stories Mini Grants: This program is for students, classes, schools, and clubs for K-12 to reflect upon the history of statehood, its significance for the present, and look forward to the next fifty years. Grant awards up to $2,000. Applications must be pre-approved and will be accepted on a rolling deadline until the end of the 2008-2009 academic years

Step 2
All AK50 Our Stories proposals must be pre-approved, and are subject to “funds availability.” Send a letter of intent summarizing the project and funding request to the Forum Grants Officer. Letters can be mailed to the Forum or emailed to
