A New Cohort of Local Leaders: Announcing LA21!
The Alaska Humanities Forum is pleased to announce the 21st cohort of Leadership Anchorage.
This program, entering its second decade, cultivates local leaders to tackle complex issues within our community and state. Equity, critical thinking, and collaboration are emphasized in monthly sessions that kicked off this past weekend and will run through May, 2018.
This year’s cohort of 19 emerging and established leaders represent private, public, non-profit, and military sectors – this mix is an intentional component of the program as participants learn and build skills through group experiences, mentorships, and personal reflection. They also partner with community champions to develop “real time” group projects that tackle current issues and needs across Anchorage.
Leadership Anchorage started 20 years ago as one of ten city programs by the Pew Partnership for Civic Change. It has continued through a generous investment from local supporters, including Alaska Airlines, Alyeska Pipeline, Atwood Foundation, BP, TOTE Maritime, and individual donors, many who are members of a tight network of nearly 350 alumni.
