Circling Back: The Legacy of Gary Holthaus

The Alaska Humanities Forum invites the public to “Circling Back: The Legacy of Gary Holthaus” a program to be held Thursday, January 19 at 7:00 pm at the Anchorage Museum auditorium. Holthaus became the Founding Director of the Alaska Humanities Forum in 1972 and his twenty-year tenure created opportunities for public humanities projects all over the state.

The evening gathering will also honor Holthaus’s literary achievements as a poet and essayist, his active engagement with Alaska Native education and land claims, and his passionate concern for the environment.

The event is sponsored by the Alaska Humanities Forum, Alaska Quarterly Review, and supported by the Anchorage Museum. For more information, contact Nancy Hemsath at nhemsath@akhf.org.
