Alaska Humanities Forum board members are active change-makers and community leaders, listeners and storytellers, fundraisers, and friend-raisers from across the state.

The board meets quarterly (with additional committee work conducted via conference call or in-person), and members serve a three-year term with the possibility of reelection to a second term.

All Alaskans are welcome to nominate a board member; self-nominations are accepted.

  1. The Board of Directors appoints the majority of new board members.
Please apply/nominate online by June 15 to be considered. All submissions will be reviewed by the Board and selected by the September board meeting.
  2. Governor Appointed Nominees: The Board includes members appointed by the Governor of the State of Alaska. Please apply online through alaska.gov.
