Join us for a community conversation centered around the question: how does culture bring joy into how we move through experiencing death and grief?

This event is being hosted in conjunction with the 18th annual Festival de Día De Los Muertos (Festival for Day of the Dead) celebrations with Out North. The theater space will be hosting ofrendas (altars) throughout the week. This conversation will occur after First Friday celebrations.

Community conversations are a space to bring folks together to connect on a topic and guiding question; using toolkits that are a part of the Kindling Conversation Program for the Alaska Humanities Forum. These spaces are welcome to anyone and participation is encouraged but whatever folks want to share or not, is completely up to them!

Alaska Humanities Forum

The Alaska Humanities Forum is a non-profit, non-partisan organization that designs and facilitates experiences to bridge distance and difference – programming that shares and preserves the stories of people and places across our vast state, and explores what it means to be Alaskan.
