If you’ve been to a Forum program, chances are good that you’ve seen how we bring people together: with a check-in question to get everyone’s voice or presence in the room, maybe sitting in a circle or in small groups, and always with an intentional design for the time together. Convening people is what we do.

Whether we’re working with high school students or longtime community leaders, we design gatherings where people share stories, discover connections, and learn about themselves. And we’ve come to realize that sharing our story - who we are, what we do and how we do it, and why it matters - is as important as setting the stage for others to share theirs.

So, gather round. We invite you into our programming, behind the scenes, and into the experiences of Forum program participants, partners, grantees and staff. We are so excited to share about our experiences and how our work strengthens communities in Alaska.
The Alaska Humanities Forum is a non-profit, non-partisan organization that designs and facilitates experiences to bridge distance and difference – programming that shares and preserves the stories of people and places across our vast state, and explores what it means to be Alaskan.
